My name is Helen Facenna, (pronounced Fa-CHEN-na) and I am a self-taught artist from the UK. I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember - it’s a very important part of my existence.
I recently also discovered sculpting with polymer clay and am excited about the possibilities of where this might take me.
I specialize in creating male nude art, Alan Rickman portraits and sculptures and faerie folk sculptures.
I find inspiration in the human form, in faces and expressions, and in the theatrical and dramatic forces that bodies and faces can convey. My work celebrates all that it is to be human, and is a constant journey through the complicated world of the human spirit.

What a great blog Helen. I work with polymer clay but would never attempt sculpture. I would love you to run a French workshop on sculpted penises (can you say that in the plural)?
May I feature you in my blog?

Cool bananas. The process was fascinating in that series on Alan Rickman. And the elfs are wicked, literally, love it,

Hi Helen - just to say I’m blogging you today!

I applaud your work. So many artists fear the male body. I own a small collection of nude fairy art. It is easy to find lovely female fairies nude or wearing gossamer. But fairy boys are rare and elusive. Please create more pretty fairy boys. Thank you.

I may in the future, Toby, but my first one sold for a very low price, and I have to create what pays the bills at the moment, I’m afraid!
Many thanx for your visit and your interest!
All the best,
Helen

Dear Helen,
your paintings are awesome and I`d love to see some more Snape portraits in the future! Have you ever watched the series “UFO”? I`m sure you`d find some really inspiring gentlemen in this show ;o).
All the best,
Susie

Will see if I can catch it some time!
Well thank you - and don’t worry, there WILL be more Snape portraits in the future!
I haven’t seen UFO - but now you’ve got me all curious!

Hi Helen,
I’ve been a huge fan of your work for years. I’m not sure you remember me. I was in a YAHOO art group with you and Nigel Fuller. I’m glad I found this site and I get to see your work again.

Hi Helen
I was thinking about you the other day and I was wondering how you were getting on so I thought I’d try to find you. I am loving your work still, especially Snape. Mr Rickman and Snape still hold a special place in my heart.
I wish I had an ounce of your talent.

Good to ’see’ you!
Glad you like the new work here - hope I’ve come a little way further since you last saw some…?
Take care!
All the best,
